When it was first rumored that Rockstar was making a remastered GTA Trilogy, reports were that it was originally planned to be a free part of the next gen GTA 5 release, which is no longer the case. Still, players wonder if they could end up preferring the OG versions of the games more than the remasters with all the changes, and if you do, there will now be literally no way to go back and purchase them. This has thrown us into yet another debate about the permanence of digital products, though in this case, it’s a store delisting, it’s not being erased from hard drives. ![]() Perhaps the most controversial part of this announcement is the fact that Rockstar has announced that it is going to be deleting the “OG” versions of the three games from all available storefronts as soon as next week to “pave the way” for the release of the remasters. ![]()
